Hauptaufgaben

Serves as a budget analyst in the resource management office of a military command. Performs the full range of review and analysis functions in the formulation, presentation, and execution of the army operations and maintenance (O&M) portion of the command operating estimated (CBE). The O&M budget and the programs funded by it are extensively interrelated with the budgets and programs of the Brigade, two Patriot Air Defense Battalions and customers for whom services are provided. The O&M budget is funded through appropriated funds and reimbursements to revolving fund accounts. Drafts and issues interpretations of departmental and higher echelon budgetary guidance, supplemental guidance, and instructions to subordinate battalions and budget offices covering budget formulation and execution. Reviews and analyzes field input for conformance with command policy, instructions, and guidance. Revises and/or edits narrative and quantitative data to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the CBE submission. Coordinates the development of standardized billing and prepares reimbursement documents for the Brigade and two Battalions customers involved with various transactions and supply services. Represents RM office during resource management officer absence providing financial advice to the commander and operating officials in all matters relating to programming, budgeting, execution and funding program. Prepares a variety of reports covering the status of funds, expenses, obligations, as required by budget officer and higher headquarters. Monitors the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds through the data based Commitment Accounting system, review of written documents and examination of accounting records. Monitors, reviews, and analyzes the execution of approval budgets by the Brigade and two Battalions within the command. Recommends reprogramming (cost transfers) of funds between accounts and activities to finance new and/or revised requirements and to support the accomplishment of planned supply operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
