The Opportunity
- To support our continued ambitious growth in Energy, we have a new opportunity for Offshore Substation (Topside) Design Leader to join in our Seoul office, a vibrant team of engineers offering engineering design for offshore substation of offshore wind farm.
- Since 2001, Arup has provided engineering, design, business advisory, program management services on more than 50 offshore wind projects from pre-bid to commercial operation phases. Arup has the skills and experience to be a trusted delivery partner across an offshore wind project’s lifecycle. Our team combines a blend of technical, commercial and advisory skills including structural, geotechnical and civil engineering capabilities, ports and maritime expertise, technical due diligence, program and project management, owner’s engineering, power systems engineering, and risk management consulting.
- As the Offshore Substation (Topside) Design Leader in Seoul office, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the design and delivery of Offshore Substation (Topside) projects.
- Managing and developing the offshore substation design team in the Seoul office.
- Supporting the energy advisory team in conducting technical due diligence for offshore wind farm projects.
- Collaborating with other business leaders to promote and expand our offshore wind service offerings.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of in‑house digital design tools to deliver efficient, cost‑effective, and tailored solutions for wind farm foundations.

Is this role right for you?
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a discipline relevant to offshore wind engineering, such as civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- At least 10 years of professional consulting experience in marine and offshore energy infrastructure, including preliminary and detailed design services, and OSS topside design.
- Proven experience as a hands-on project manager or director leading multi‑million‑dollar engineering, advisory, or consulting engagements in the energy sector, with demonstrated success in financial performance, technical delivery, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop teams to successfully deliver projects won through business development activities.
- Strong understanding of commercial and financial considerations related to securing and executing professional services commissions.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in the local language at other locations is preferred but not required.
- Willingness and ability to work in Seoul, Korea.
