Serves as the Telecommunications Specialist at Defense Information System Agency Pacific (DISA Pacific) Korea Field Office to support the needs of the Defense Information System Agency Pacific (DISA Pacific) Korea Field Office. Performs implementing, installing, developing and operating the Pacific portion of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) as well as provides technical guidance and advice in all aspects of telecommunication management pertaining to Internet Protocol/ Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS), Optical Transport Systems, and all other long-haul media. As a command technical expert in area of specialization, provides guidance and support on any aspect of command responsibilities related to operating and maintaining these facilities. Quality Assurance/Quality Inspection: As Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Telecommunications Installation Specialist, performs a wide range of complex tasks involving the technical review and reporting of plans, system design, records maintenance, and quality assurance for the DISA Telecommunication Systems throughout the command. Provides overall technical oversight, advice, and guidance to DISA PAC Korea Field Office the Quality Assurance (QA) matters of DISN infrastructure in Korea Theater Operation (KTO). Analyzes and evaluates test results and factors, including failures, malfunctions, or disturbances. Ascertains and initiates appropriate action to correct conditions affecting telecommunications efficiency and continuity from analysis of test results. Conducts comprehensive performance evaluation, commissioning evaluation, and staff assistance reports and provides authoritative interpretation in the application of DISA/military circulars, instructions, handbooks, standards, and other technical documents as related to quality assurance and military department and user application. Executes telecommunications integration for the planning, development, deployment, installation, provisioning, operations, maintenance, and QA of existing and complex, state-of- the-art telecommunications systems and enterprise services within the KTO. Provides technical guidance to DISA PAC Korea Field Office leadership on matters pertaining to the operation, maintenance, and restoration of Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) transmission media subsystems in Korea Theater Operation (KTO). Provides technical advice, determining appropriate technical identification; determining adequacy of existing specifications, policies and procedures; and determining need for modification of specifications or development of new specifications; evaluating technical operations of facilities and systems; reviewing plans, drawings and installation specifications; as necessary to effect completion of assigned projects; and providing technical advice and guidance to installation teams in various areas. Provides technical support of provisioning, implementation, operational sustainment, and technical engineering support of networks/service delivery points throughout the KTO and DISN transport, including Internet Protocol / Multiprotocol Label Switching (IP/MPLS), Optical Transport Systems, and all other long-haul media in support of warfighters in KTO. Coordinates with all stakeholders such as USFK, 1st Signal, Eighth Army, 7th Air Force at Osan, and Regional Cybersecurity Command - Korea (RCC-K) for implementation, policies, procedures, directives, and agreements, and updates needed to accomplish network engineering, integration, network expansion, service provisioning, and management of the new projects pertinent to KTO. Conducts critical Test and Acceptance (T&A)/commissioning provisions in KTO; supports the T&A to the extent necessary to determine acceptability of subsystems for commissioning into the DISN or manages T&A and Commissioning by others in KTO. Advises leadership on the final information systems test and acceptance during the DISA PAC commissioning process based on the technical areas which include the Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network, Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM), terrestrial transmission systems, fiber optic transmission systems, submarine cable system, and the related subsystem of environmental control, electrical power, and GBS. Reviews test plans and test reports for equipment system and facilities. Performs the cutover of circuits, links and systems into the DISN aforementioned commissioning efforts. Maintains close liaison with operating elements regarding long-haul transmission media subsystems in order to sustain an up-to-date knowledge of existing facilities' current capabilities and planned upgrades. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
Applicants must possess a ROK driver's license (1st Class Normal-type) and successfully pass a USFK performance test for the type of equipment to be operated.
