Serves as a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Senior Leader in the Heavy Equipment Division with responsibility for participating in overall operations of field, sustainment, and below depot level repair functions, and Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) for military tactical vehicles. Equipment maintained includes; tactical wheeled vehicles (all categories; light, medium and heavy), construction equipment, materiel handling equipment, combat vehicles (excluding turret systems), and marine machinery. Systems include but not limited to all versions of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Stryker, Armored Security Vehicles (ASV), Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET), Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT), Palletized Load System (PLS), Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), Highly Mobile Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), trailers, forklifts, cranes, Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH), graters, dozers, Armored Combat Earth-mover (ACE), Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), M1 Abrahams, M2 Bradley, M109 Paladin, M992 Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicle (FASSV), and M88 Recovery Vehicle. The occupation and grade level that best reflect the nature of the overall work operation are Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, KWB-5803-7 consisting of approximately 20 workers. 1. Planning: Plans work assignments and methods on a day-to-day basis. Estimates time, equipment, material and personnel required. Furnishes facts on work in process, backlog and production rates. Normally is told equipment to be used. Obtains routine supplies; reports recurring failures of equipment. Follows established work procedures but is authorized to make minor deviations to meet temporary conditions. 2. Selecting and Evaluating Subordinates: On request, furnishes recommendations to supervisor concerning work records and other qualification of subordinate employees being considered for promotion or reassignment; gives tryouts where desirable. Makes informal and formal appraisal of performance; recommends commendations or disciplinary actions; suggests ways of improving performance. 3. Assigning Work: Selects from the assigned work force the individuals to be used for each operation of the project; assigns work individually indicating methods to be used; furnishes technical instructions on more difficult operations. 4. Reviewing Work: Makes frequent inspections to insure quality control. Observes work to locate problems. Seeks solution to problems and avoidance of future problems (adjustments are confined to operations supervised and do not affect the end result determined by a higher authority). Reports to supervisor above-normal rejection rates. Expected to be alert to means of increasing efficiency and economy of operation. 5. Improving Methods: Scope of responsibility is limited to own operations major improvements must be accepted by supervisor before changes can be effected. See improvements in organization work flow, machine utilization and employee attitudes. 6. Other Personnel Tasks: Adjusts informal complaints or refers to supervisor. Counsels subordinates on personnel matters as requested. Notes need for and recommends provision of employee services; recommends leave schedules, notes leave abuse and recommends corrective action. Reports job changes and recommends personnel actions as appropriate. Inducts new employees and conducts on the job training. Evaluates performance to determine individual training needs; analyzes job tasks as basis for training. With assistance of the Foreman or other staff personnel, develops training plans as needed. 7. General Administration: Responsible for the accuracy of work order data and its input into the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) or the current Tactical Enterprise Logistics System (TELS) in use. Maintains and controls the use of assigned Sets, Kit, and Outfits (SKO), special tools, Technical Manuals (TM), office supplies, safety equipment. Monitors and enforces the Army's command Supply Discipline Program. Requisitions supplies, materials and tools through supervisor. Assists supervisor in the performance of risk management and enforces published safety standards for ongoing and new operations. Ensures proper use of safety equipment and seeks elimination of safety hazards. Reports any unmet safety needs to supervisor. Utilizes Army computer systems on a daily basis. English proficiency must meet minimal requirement to complete training requirements to access Army networks and comprehend documents which are only available in English. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
1. This position has been designated as KN EMERGENCY-ESSENTIAL (MISSION ESSENTIAL). KN EE (ME) Position Agreement Form (USFK Form 200EK) must be signed prior to appointment of the selectee for this position. 2. Relocation Allowance will NOT be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area. 3. The employment age range for recruitment and placement is 18 to 61.
